Prepare Your Neighborhood

Neighborhood Preparedness:

Disaster Resilience requires personal responsibility--after a large disaster emergency response agencies are overwhelmed and individuals will be left to their own resources. Neighborhood preparedness programs can include instructor led training, CERT, SPAN, or be based around capturing information on who already has training, experience and supplies that can help in disasters. The optimal choice for a neighborhood would be to have all neighbors going through instructor led training, that isn't very realistic, but neighborhoods that mix Neighborhood led resource mapping with instructor led training is the next best thing.
